Frequently Asked Questions

Why Hire the Three Rivers String Quartet?

We are all professionally trained musicians who have performed for over a thousand events in the past ten years. We rehearse regularly with the same four members and are dedicated to making your event memorable. From the time you book us you will have access to our musicians 24/7 to ask questions and begin planning. We are available by phone, email, and text.

My Wedding Ceremony Will Be Outdoors, Is This a Problem For a String Quartet?

Not at all! All we ask is that the musicians are provided with a covered area out of direct sunlight and that the temperature is above 60 degrees. Tents or canopys are great! (There are some venues that we do not require shelter at... please ask.)

What Will I Need To Provide For The Musicians?

Four armless chairs. That is all. We provide the rest!

How Will The Musicians Dress?

We wear formal black unless otherwise requested.

Do You Offer Suggestions For Music?

Yes. Please contact us for musical suggestions, or schedule a meeting with us.

How Many Prelude Pieces Should I Choose?

We suggest 6-8 pieces for the prelude music. We are happy to choose the pieces for you if you do not have any special requests.

Do You Usually Attend Wedding Ceremony Rehearsals?

Due to our schedules, we do not usually attend wedding ceremony rehearsals. Details of your selections will be discussed prior to your ceremony. On your ceremony day, we will arrive approximately 30-45 minutes before we are scheduled to play, to verify cues and to meet your officiant and wedding coordinator. If you are having us play for your processional and/or recessional, please be assured that we are adept at timing the music to the correct length. If required by your venue, a musician is available to come to your rehearsal for an extra $100.

How Will You Know When To Begin The Processional Music?

We will need a cue from a wedding coordinator or someone of your choosing. We will meet this person before the ceremony to confirm cues.

Do You Play Traditional Catholic Wedding Mass Music?

Due to the fact that this music involves the congregation singing, we ask that you hire an organist, pianist or cantor to play and sing this music. We can perform with these musicians if the music is provided to us. Usually your church will have this music on hand to send to us, or to provide to us on the day of the wedding.

How Soon Should I Reserve My Date?

It is never too early to reserve a date. Many of our brides reserve dates up to two years in advance. The earlier you reserve your date, the better the chance that we have it available. In order to reserve a date, we ask for a signed contract and a 50% deposit.
